the design experience
1. ENQUIRY
Once you have confirmed your venue and wedding date, I would love to hear from you! You can send me an email, or simply complete the contact form and we can then begin to discuss your initial design ideas, understand your wedding theme and get an idea of your unique style and vision for your cake.
2. consultation
We can arrange a private design consultation where we will be able to discuss ideas in detail, looking at different design styles, colours, varying tier sizes, shapes and different décor techniques. As well as the all-important cake-tasting to sample our cake flavours.
Not sure how large or small your wedding cake should be? Don’t worry! This is also discussed and made easy in the consultation.
3. BOOKINg
Following the consultation, a full proposal for your wedding cake based on the design discussed will be sent through. Along with ordering details, delivery information and terms and conditions. Once you are happy with all the details and have returned your order form, a 40% booking fee is required to secure your wedding date.
Save The Date Option
It is possible to secure your date straight away before deciding on your design, by way of payment of an initial £100.00 holding deposit. This will confirm your booking and will be deducted from the 40% deposit which is payable after the consultation.
4. Design
Once your date is secured, you will receive a digital hand drawn sketch of your bespoke design to give a detailed illustration of how the cake will look.
Our service is as bespoke as our cakes. Wish to make changes to your design? Rest assured; you are still able to make any changes to your design up to 60 days before your special day, when the final balance for your cake is due.
5. the baking process
Preparation for creating your wedding cake will begin a few weeks prior to your special day. All of our decorations are hand-crafted, so if you have any sugar flowers or intricate sugar textures within your design, work will begin on these elements ahead of time.
Your cake will be baked on the week of your wedding to ensure maximum freshness, then layered with your chosen buttercream filling and iced with a layer of Belgian chocolate ganache before icing in Vanilla fondant.
Your cake will then be assembled, decorated and the finishing touches added, ready for delivery.
6. delivery
I hand deliver every wedding cake, as well as liaise with your wedding venue and wedding planner to ensure the cake is delivered and set up on time, in the right place with exact instructions, so you can be rest assured your cake will be perfectly presented.
There is also the option of cake stand hire, to ensure your cake is perfectly presented on the day.
